This design was created by the Paul Revere Pottery in the early 1900's and depicts buttercups in the Arts and Crafts Style.
I have chosen to make this bowl using traditional method used to make Korean Moon Jars, where 2 bowls are made , trimmed on the potters wheel to make a foot and rim and then joined together. A unique feature of Korean Moon jars is that the foot of the bowl is always smaller than the rim.
This is then finished to provide a smooth surface. The decoration was mapped, transferred and handpainted onto the form and finally, decorated using underglazes.

This is made from earthenware clay and therefore is suited to indoor use only. It is very likely to crack if kept outdoors.
